<p>A special category of persons was the so-called &#8220;weight losers&#8221; &#8211; people trying to lose weight overnight, or even faster. People belonging to the lazy human race, wanting everything without any effort. How on Earth can somebody think that she can lose 5 pounds in three hours without the help of a good pair of scissors? </p>
<h2>Another Approach To Weight Loss</h2>
<p>Are you fat? Think of how many years of eating and drinking were necessary for you to accumulate all that weight. Did you need one year? Or maybe you needed two, three, or even ten years to gain those 20 pounds which stay now on the top of your mind, pushing down your self esteem.<br />
If it took you so long to gain that weight, what makes you think that you can get rid of it in one single week, or even worse, in a weekend?</p>
<p>My dear overweight fellows, there&#8217;s no such thing as losing weight fast and remain in good health. <p>Do you love Mc Donalds, or KFC, or other kind of fast food restaurant? Don&#8217;t worry, if you crave without it, just go and eat there, but choose the small menus and give up the coke and the desert. Then go dancing for at least one hour, to make sure you consume all the calories you&#8217;ve eaten with your food. Give up sugar and alcohol, in order to allow yourself another cheeseburger this week. Don&#8217;t take the elevator; use the stairs, even if you live at the 9th floor: this would allow you another dish of deep fried chicken wings you like so much!</p>
<p>If this is not a way of life for you, then why not simply turn your eyes and your mouth towards a healthier nutrition? <p>I use to have a say: every person has her own price for doing certain things. It is all about the motivation. If you asked me to climb the stairs to my 9th floor apartment ten times a day, I&#8217;d say &#8220;no chance&#8221;. But if you told me that if I do that for 10 days in a row I&#8217;d win one million dollars, don&#8217;t you think I&#8217;d do it? I surely would. I would even for $100,000. Why? Because the amount of effort required is smaller than the value of my gain. The same applies with weight loss. If I told you to follow this and that diet or workout program, you&#8217;d be motivated only if the prize you&#8217;d get would mean something to you. If to lose 10 pounds in 10 days means no big deal for you, then you won&#8217;t follow a diet which would make you that promise. However, if a weight loss diet would claim you can lose 20 pounds in two weeks, maybe this would change everything. Maybe 20 pounds is what you need to lose in order to attain your ideal weight. Then the price of respecting that diet would look reasonable, compared with the results.</p>

<p>So, it&#8217;s all about perspective. This explains the great variety of weight loss plans which are so popular, and this also explains why each fad diet, each weight loss procedure, each nutrition plan has its own fans and haters. Some people managed to burn fat where some others failed miserably. The common denominator is that self confidence, respect and interaction with our peers are amongst our biggest values, which we cherish as much as to forget about health and get ourselves into starvation, into severe weight loss diets, or even into supreme procedures such as the gastric bypass.</p>
