Lose 5 Pounds in a Week
Why would somebody want to lose 5 pounds after all? This is not such a big amount of weight as to make a significant difference, so you’d say you wouldn’t bother with that at all.
Well, do you remember that day when you wanted to wear your favorite evening dress to go to a cocktail party and you discovered that it’s a bit too tight and you cannot sit down in it? Or do you recall that funny noise coming out of your jacket tearing apart while you were trying to hug your friend?
In such cases, 5 pounds can make a difference. However, very few persons would be willing to suffer a lot in order to achieve this weight loss goal. Maybe a loose diet would do the trick. How about one week? If you are determined, you can lose 5 pounds in a week, in at least one way:

This is how to get rid of those naughty pounds without sweating in the gyms or suffering from starvation:
- Eat five times a day: three main meals and two snacks in between
- Breakfast: eat exclusively fruits such as apples, oranges, plums, pineapple, melon, peaches, grapes, blueberries or whatever other fruits may be available in that season in your part of the world. Avoid bananas, as well as all fruits you are known to be allergic to.
- First snack: two hours after the breakfast, you can eat some light snack (a tuna sandwich, or some scrambled eggs, or some cheese, or milk with cereals)
- Lunch: you can eat a steak and a soup, but give up the fried potatoes and replace them with rice or boiled vegetables. If you insist on having potatoes, have them boiled instead of fried. Do not eat fruits at the end of the meal. The time of digestion for fruits is smaller than the time required to digest meat, and you’ll and up bloated and unhappy.
- Second snack: one-two sandwiches, a cup of tea, some biscuits
- Dinner: fish is a good option for a light dinner. Trout is delicious if properly prepared and I’m sure you can find good restaurants where to eat, so you won’t have to cook the fish at home if you don’t want to. Alternatives to the fish meal: veal steak, some Chinese food with rice, a Cesar salad or something similar. Don’t combine the food with bread and refrain from ordering any sweets.
- Drink 2 liters of water per day. Don’t force yourself to drink it all at once, but make sure you drink the whole quantity before going to sleep
- Give up alcohol. Even a glass of beer is too much. Alcohol contains a lot of calories, so it’s better to stay away from it until you see your objective accomplished.
- Don’t put sugar in your coffee or tea. If you cannot drink them unsweetened, use some sugar-replacements, or pour a teaspoonful of honey
- Don’t eat anything between the meals. Forget your old habit of opening the fridge door 5 times per day to see what’s inside.
- Take a long walk every evening. About 20-30 minutes of vigorous walking can do wonders for your body. If you can’t go for walks, go up and down the stairs of your building several times, or do some light workouts for your abs.
